This email is a spoofing/fishing email that tries to get you to click on a link, send private information or purchase a gift card. This doesn’t mean this person’s email or account has been comprised.

 

To tell if an email is from an untrustworthy source look for the following.

 

1. Check the from field it should read [email protected] not [email protected]
2. Any email with “EXTERNAL EMAIL: Do not open attachments/click links if source is unknown. “is coming from someone from outside the organization. An email from a Food Bank employee will not have this message on top of the email.
3. The signature is not the standard signature that is assigned to every employee at the Food Bank.
